In science this week we have been looking at object in the day/night sky.  Yesterday we looked how what we see of the moon changes every night.  We discussed how this is called the phases of the moon.  Today we read a story What's the Moon Like Around the World?  In this story two children that just moved to the United States wonder if the moon phase they see in the sky is the same one they would see if they still lived in the Middle East.  Then they wondered if it is the same in the southern hemisphere as well.  We did a probe to test what we thought.  The students wrote down their ideas and kept them to themselves.  Next we read a book about how the moon travels around the earth.  We used models to test this.

Then we looked at a website to gain some schema.  We then looked at our original guesses and decided if they were correct or we had some misconceptions.
